Ok, I'll admit it:
I like show tunes.
You may now stop following me.
No wait... please don't go! I'm cool, really! (although anyone who tries to convince other people that they're cool are, of course not cool.) So, um. Yeah.
Shoot.
Now I've gone and done it. I've lost you forever because I'm a show-tunes-loving fool.
Ok, ok, I know you're still there. Why do I know? Because you're still reading this! And if you're still reading this, than you're either A) very nice/forgiving; B) interested in where this post is going almost against your better judgement; or C) secretly (or not so secretly) a show-tunes-loving fool too.
Well?
Which one is it?
Please tell me I'm not alone.
I'll tell you my favorite if you tell me yours.
Here's a clue:
So really, now that I've gotten that little secret off my chest (and I feel much better, it is nice to be honest with you)... what's your favorite?
Because I know you wouldn't have read this far if you didn't have one. :)
I love Les Mis! I got to see it on Broadway when I was in high school. I do like show tunes, but really don't have one that sticks out as my fav.
ReplyDeleteMy kids are OBSESSED with Phantom...even my 2 year old BOY...oh boy.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite song to sing alone is "Little Girls" from Annie. I secretly want to play Mrs. Hannigan in some little production somewhere. She is the best villian ever. My second favoite song to sing is "Too Darn Hot" from Kiss Me Kate.
I still think you're cool. I've never been to a live show of anything really, I'm a sucker for a good musical/show tune. I love Chicago, Rent, and admittedly, High School Musical (I blame my 3 year old for that one). Anyway, Happy SITS Saturday Sharefest!!! =]
ReplyDeleteYou mean I can only pick one?! I was listening to the score from "Chess" (London cast) yesterday :)
ReplyDeleteHappy SITS Saturday Sharefest!
For real? I LOVE show tunes!!! My faves would have to be Wicked, Aida, Annie, Les Mis, and Phantom of the Opera. Beautiful. Just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOH! I'm a showtune girl too! Right now I can't stop listening to Wicked. I sing all the songs constantly. There is no way to be in a bad mood when singing showtunes!
ReplyDeleteSorry, but I'm not a show tune lover! But as a MUSIC lover - Baroque - I applaud your enthusiasm and loyalty to what moves you!!!
ReplyDeleteum
ReplyDeleteI like them all
hey, I was a (choral) music teacher, and plan to go back to the classroom someday
It's practically a job requirement.
